who is scott robinson designs?
Artist LaShonda Scott Robinson is scott robinson designs, Inc. Scott is my maiden name and Robinson is my married name. I named my business in honor of my father and my husband.

can i change the color or content of a print?
No. Each print is scanned from my original painting. By altering the content, the print loses the integrity of the original piece.

can i order a print in a different size?
I am not offering special sizes of my prints at this time. However, depending on the popularity or demand of a print, I will offer limited editions prints in special sizes in the future.

does lashonda do commissioned artwork?
It is very rare that I do commissioned work. Painting is my sanctuary and I only paint what inspires me. Therefore, when presented with commissioned work, I must feel inspired.

are poems included with print?
Yes, each print comes with a card with the title of the painting, the poem or description of the painting and the author’s name. This card is printed on white laid paper. It is a great compliment to the print. Visit my blog at www.scottrdesigns.blogspot.com for framing tips with poetry card.

do you offer express delivery?
Yes, prints are usually kept in-stock and ship within 5-7 business days. However, if you need the print sent faster, please e-mail me at support@scottrdesigns.com and I will personally work with you to get your order out in a timely manner.

why don’t you paint faces?
When I paint I am trying to express a feeling; love, despair, happiness, etc. I use body language to tell my story. I also believe art is subjective. The meaning of a painting is defined by the person looking at it. For example, though personal pain may be my inspiration for painting a particular painting, when you look at that painting you may see something totally different. By adding facial expressions, it limits the scope and appeal of my work. I want you to look at my paintings and have your experiences guide your perception.

are you self-taught?
Yes. I have no formal art training. I majored in Advertising and I minored in English. Art is a hobby I have loved since childhood.

what inspires your work?
My personal experiences and good stories inspire my art. I have to be able to feel what I am painting. It is like writing my personal feelings in a diary. I painting my experiences, hopes, and fears.

do you sell limited editions of your artwork?

what is a giclee print?
Giclee is a french word which means “sprayed ink”. It is a print making method using an ink-jet printer for photographic images of paintings to produce high-quality reproductions. For example: In giclee, the ink is sprayed on to your choice of media in millions of colors utilizing continuous tone technology, retaining all the fine detail of the original.
